The construction team at J Tomlinson has handed over a supported living scheme built for developer HBV.

Limbrick Place in Jardine Crescent at Tile Hill, Coventry, features a single block of eight and a single block of sixteen apartments, along with ten apartments that will be used to support adults who require high levels of complex care.

The specialist development was the second built by J Tomlinson for a partnership involving HBV, Inclusion Housing CIC and Lifeways Community Care, and follows a highly successful £2.3 million scheme in Rushden, Northamptonshire, consisting of 16 apartments for adults with learning and physical disabilities, which was completed in 2016.

Martin Gallagher, managing director (construction) at Nottingham-based J Tomlinson, which undertook £4.5 million of building work, said: “As a company, J Tomlinson has extensive experience of building specialist developments such as this. We were very pleased to have been a part of the team creating such a first-class environment, which provides purpose-built, supported living accommodation for adults with disabilities – enabling them to have their own homes.”

The development is future-proofed with integrated assistive technology provided by ATEL including automatic doors, care call system and access control. The architect for the scheme was Calderpeel.

Residents are being referred to the new development by Coventry City Council, with care provided by Lifeways. The registered provider is Inclusion Housing.

HBV is a leading national developer of supported living schemes.

This scheme goes a long way in providing a safe and comfortable environment for people with learning and physical disabilities, as well as more serious cases of complex care.”

“This is a really good example of what can be done using the specialist supported living model which is a fantastic approach to dealing with the shortage of quality accommodation for vulnerable adults.”
