J Tomlinson has moved up the list naming Nottinghamshire’s top 200 businesses to become the 40th firm, based on turnover.
The company – founded in the 1950s – has risen 12 places from 52nd place in 2017 in the list compiled by Nottingham Trent University’s Nottingham Business School.
This was the fourth year that the list has been drawn up – with Beeston-based J Tomlinson moving up each year.
J Tomlinson CEO Mark Davis said: “J Tomlinson is on a journey of sustainable growth, and the fact that we have moved to a higher position in the Nottinghamshire’s top 200 businesses list is a reflection of the continued success of the company across its sectors in construction, refurbishment, mechanical and electrical services, facilities management and social housing repairs, maintenance and regeneration.
“Our people are our greatest asset, and it is a result of their hard work, commitment and vision that J Tomlinson continues to successfully develop. Once again, we are delighted to be part of Nottinghamshire’s top 200 businesses, alongside some very well known, household names, and to also see companies who are on there for the first time.”
Revealed by the Nottingham Post at a breakfast event at Harts Restaurant attended by business professionals from across the county, the list was topped by Boots UK Ltd, with a turnover of £8.06 billion.
J Tomlinson, which employs around 460 people, provides a range of building services. The business is committed to direct employment opportunities and providing pathways to employment through apprenticeships. The business operates its core regions from Canwell, Sutton Coldfield, Wakefield and Beeston, with other regional offices to support its major partnerships.
