Independent crisp brand Darling Spuds has launched new flavours and packaging as it prepares to mark its tenth anniversary next year.

Thai Sweet Chilli, Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper, and Ham & English Mustard have been added to the range. They join existing flavours Somerset Cheddar & Onion, Mediterranean Sea Salt, and Sea Salt & Modena Balsamic Vinegar.

All six flavours have been given a modern, new look – with eye-catching updated packaging.

At the same time, the salt, calories and fat content of the hand-cooked potato crisps have also been reduced.

The new-look packs are available in 40g sizes, with Mediterranean Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Modena Balsamic Vinegar, Thai Sweet Chilli, and Somerset Cheddar & Onion also available in larger, sharing 150g packs.

Darling Spuds is part of the Salty Dog snack family, which was founded by Dave and Judy Willis in 2003 and is still 100% family owned. It is now one of the very few brands of crisp in the UK still owned by the founders.

Salty Dog is well known for its cool crisps, nibbly nuts and other snacks. Sister brand Darling Spuds followed in 2010, with hand-cooked crisps and roasted corn kernels.

The Darling Spuds flavours of hand-cooked crisps are all natural and all vegetarian, with most flavours also vegan friendly and gluten free.

They are popular in independent stores, sandwich shops, as well pubs, bars, cafés and other foodservice outlets.

Available from 25th March, the recommended retail price for the 40g packs is 95p and the 150g packs is £2.30.
