Louise Duffield, who runs Perfect10PR, is thanking friends, family and clients for supporting Team Lou’s £6,000-plus half-marathon run for charity.
The Nottingham-based PR and communications consultant specialising in the food and construction sectors was part of a team of 13 running the Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for Breast Cancer Care – chosen by Louise after her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2018.
Through the Just Giving website, “Team Lou” has, so far, raised more than £6,300 for Breast Cancer Care, which recently combined with Breast Cancer Now to form a single charity.
Explaining why she ran the race, Louise said: “I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2018 and went through a challenging six months of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
“Breast Cancer Care provided brilliant support and advice, alongside the exceptional medical care I received from Nottingham City Hospital.
“But I also had overwhelming support from family, friends and clients – they helped me keep on running and working throughout my treatment and were more than generous with donations.
“It might not work for everyone, but I’m sure being able to carry on with both work and exercise has really helped me through the past 16 months. All I can say is thank you.”
Her time for the half marathon, which took place in Nottingham on 29th September, was two hours 12 minutes.
Louise set up PR agency Perfect10PR in 2007, having worked in the media since 1987, and has clients in Nottingham and the East Midlands, across the UK and in France and Sweden.
