Naan and flatbread producer Butt Foods is offering fast-food and other catering outlets the chance to spice up their burger menus by introducing alternative burger buns.

The company’s Baked Earth round garlic and coriander naans make the perfect burger buns – giving food service operators the opportunity to serve authentic street food-style Indian menu items with a twist.

Team with crispy coated chicken strips, chicken burgers or a veggie alternative to create a burger that’s a hot new flavour.

“Our Baked Earth round garlic and coriander naans have been long-term favourites with our customers, and one of our best selling products,” explained Dan Butt, MD of the Nottingham-based baker.

“Their versatility extends far beyond the traditional side-of-plate accompaniment use, however. Try them as burger buns to create an Indian-flavoured burger that’ll be hot news on any menu.”

The 50g/4.5″ diameter ready-baked, round naan breads are made with kalonji seeds and a garlic and coriander coating.

They are available to food service customers via frozen food distributor Central Foods.

To cook from frozen in an oven, remove all packaging and sprinkle the naan breads lightly with water. Place directly onto the oven rack in a preheated oven at 200°C Gas Mark 6 for 4-5 minutes.
