Award-winning farm shop Croots will be re-opening its popular café and outdoor seating area to customers on Thursday 13th August with a host of safety measures to reassure customers during their visit.
The farm shop near Duffield is already open for shopping, and also running a click and collect service, but it plans to open the doors of its café and outdoor seating area once again, from 13th August. The play area will also be re-opening from the same day.
In addition, Croots will also be taking part in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which offers a 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in (up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August.
While the café has been closed during lockdown, the team at Croots has taken the opportunity to redecorate, renovate tables and chairs, and invest in new technology to allow customers to order food and drinks via their mobile phones using a QR code on the table, if they would like to. Croots has also invested in a brand new espresso machine.
Steve Croot, who runs the farm shop at Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road, with wife Kay said: “We know a lot of our loyal customers have really missed our café and outdoor seating areas, with their beautiful views across the Ecclesbourne Valley, so we are really pleased to be re-opening our café from 13th August.
“Understandably things are going to feel a little different. We are 100% committed to keeping our staff and our customers safe during their visits to Croots, which means we have a number of new measures in place. These include a smaller, select menu, tables that are more spaced out for social distancing, and one-hour time slots. Everything will be table service and we are urging as many of our customers as possible to book their tables in advance and once they are here, to order using a QR code on the table. For those not using this system, we will take food and drink orders from a suitable distance.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming our customers back into our café and outdoor seating area, and as always, we thank them for the support they give to our family business and all the food and drink businesses that supply our café and our shop.”
Croots Farm Shop kept its customers well fed during lockdown by introducing a click and collect service and delivery for local elderly and vulnerable customers, before re-opening the store to walk-in customers in July.
It has added a new menu to its website and soon it will also be offering take-out items – with customers having the option to use the farm shop’s outside tables if they are not in use.
“We will still welcome walk-ins for our café and outdoor seating areas, but we prefer that our customers pre book whenever possible by ringing us on 01332 843032, extension 2,” added Steve.
